In this classic design exercise, a device is designed to prevent a raw egg which is thrown from a fourth-floor window from breaking or cracking.

The egg is wrapped in the nylon mesh which is firmly attached to the two plastic rings. At the front of the device there is a rubber ball that absorbs most of the impact energy. The rest energy of the fall is dissipated through four streamlined strained aluminum bars.
